Development of 3 Concentric Rings for Aero Engine for Special Application

Project Description

The project is regarding design, development and fabrication of three types of Burner Rings for an Aero Engine application. These Burner Rings are used for after-burner flame propagation and sustenance. The burner rings in-turn house various arrangements of fuel spray rings and tubes wherein fuel is ignited during after-burner regime of operation. Currently, these burner rings are imported. These burner rings are observed to crack and get damaged during service after certain number of hours of operation due to thermally-induced stresses. The cracked and damaged rings are either repaired or replaced subsequently. This project intends to develop these rings indigenously.
